Just find a great beach and stay there. :-) Most beaches you can even drink beer or wine while you read and no one says mum. Don't forget to rent snorkel gear - it's cheap and worth every cent. I'll be in Maui in 5 weeks! I also get a case of the blahs before going. But once you're there it's hard to be down - it's just too damn relaxing. Which side of the island are you staying at?
