Concert recordings, at their worst, contain lots of audience members screaming and yelling, and show off the singer’s inability to sing in key. At best, they’re a pale comparison to actually being at the concert, which is kind of depressing (like your parents going to Hawaii and bringing you back a t-shirt). I love the Shearwater concert recording I’ve mentioned, and the various live Peter Gabriel albums and movies, but I still feel a bit sad for being shown what I missed.
